Description

The unit “Information Systems Fundamentals” offers an overview of the entire IS discipline, while giving students a solid foundation for further study in advanced IS courses such as the Internet, systems analysis and design, programming, project management, database management, data communications, eCommerce application, decision support, business intelligence and knowledge management.

This unit also addresses organisational use of technology and in particular the ‘fit’ between technology, information systems, culture, and social change in a global context. It is relevant not only for IS majors, but to students from fields of study, such as management, business, and social science.

Prerequisites

You must have knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word) before starting this unit.
