The course has been designed to meet the needs of all involved in the area of web-based teaching and learning, particularly teachers, education officers, training and development personnel across the professions. The course content and experiences are developed within the context of each individual's specific needs and circumstances. This course is delivered primarily online and involves a mixture of individual and collaborative activities. Assessment is developmental and progressive as individuals work upon a project of their own choosing to showcase their increasing knowledge and skills.

Teachers, education officers, training and development personnel involved in the area of web-based teaching and learning can benefit from the eLearning course. Primary and Secondary school teachers should refer to their professional accreditation body for information about the requirements of ongoing professional learning.
Eligibility
1. Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

a three or four year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University or tertiary institution

a bachelor degree and a one or two year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University

a three year degree of a University approved by the School of Education
-
satisfy the School of Education by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature
2. Applicants must comply with the University’s English language requirements:

completion of at least one year of full-time study at post-secondary or tertiary level in which English was the sole medium of instruction
-
completion of an English language subject at Australian Year 12 level or overseas equivalent
3. International applicants must have:

an IELTS score of at least 6.0 (minimum sub-band score of 5.5)

a TOEFL score of at least 213 in the computer based test or at least 79 in the Internet based test (minimum of 22 in the written test)

This course is restricted. Students are required to apply and be approved by the University of New England before they can enrol in units through OUA.
Applications for the Graduate Certificate in eLearning are due 2 weeks prior to the close of enrolment.

Next steps:
After submitting your application, you should receive a confirmation email containing
a copy of your application for your records.
Your application will be assessed within 2-4 weeks, and if further information is
required, we will contact you. Once your application has been assessed, we will
be in touch via email to notify you of the outcome. At the latest this will be
one week after the closing date for applications.

Prepare supporting documents

Check that you have all the required documents, according to individual course
requirements and your personal circumstances, specifically:
- Your curriculum vitae - required for entry into postgraduate courses
only.
- Certified
copies of academic transcripts - required in most cases but check course
eligibility rules.
- A letter of recommendation from your employer on company letterhead -
recommended for entry using work experience.
- Certified legal documentation - if you have changed your name e.g. a marriage
certificate, deed poll name change certificate.
- Certified legal documentation - if you need to correct an error in your date of
birth e.g. a birth certificate.
- English language test results - if your courses were not predominantly in
English e.g. IELTS
or equivalent test results.
- Official translations of any documents not in English.
A "certified" copy is a copy bearing the recognised mark of a Justice of the Peace,
Commission of Oaths or declarations, Public Notary or a Solicitor.

Award Requirements
To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in eLearning students must complete four units.
Recognition of Prior Learning / Credit
Advanced standing may be granted for units which are deemed to be equivalent to units offered by UNE and approved for the course.
Credit may be given for units completed from another postgraduate qualification at this or another University.
