Overview

Career Outcomes

As a result of the strong support given to the course by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA), the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA) and the logistics industry in Australia generally, graduates of the course have found little difficulty in obtaining employment. Most graduates pursue careers across general logistics or specialise in areas such as air, road, rail or sea transport, purchasing, inventory control and warehousing, distribution in manufacturing, retail or contract logistics organisations.

Professional Recognition

On completing the course, graduates will be eligible for graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (ClLTA). CILTA provides strong and active support for the course. CILTA is also part of a worldwide network, and the prestige associated with being a member of CILTA opens many more doors locally, nationally and internationally.
Another important industry association supporting the course is the Logistics Association of Australia. Many of the members of these associations provide employment opportunities for students during cooperative education.

Transition Arrangements

Registered students who have completed any of the Equivalent units will be provided with a study plan to complete their degree or to transfer to the revised 2012 degree.

Unregistered students intending to complete the 2011 Bachelor of Business (Logistics) Award Requirements must submit their Registration before the deadline of the close of enrolment for Study Period 1 2012.

Unregistered students who have completed the Level 2 and Level 3 Monash core units MAN22 Human Resource Management or MAN31 Strategic Management will be given information about Registration and the option to include these units as Business Electives in the revised course structure.

Award Requirements

To obtain the Bachelor of Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) you must complete a total of 24 units, consisting of:

• 8 core units
• 8 Logistics Major units
• 4 Logistics Minor units
• 2 Elective units at Level 2 and 2 Elective units Level 3. There are no Student Electives at Level 1 in this degree.

• You must complete this degree within 10 years

Recognition of Prior Learning / Credit

Students may be able to receive credit for previous studies completed at other institutions or for work/life experience (RPL). A fee of $50 is applicable to have your credit assessed.  Documentation will be required to support your application, such as;

• a certified copy of an Academic Transcript with final grades for Higher Education studies
• a certified copy of a Statement of Attainment for any completed TAFE studies
• course outlines showing content, learning outcomes and assessment requirements
• an explanation of the grading structure used.

Registering in this Course

Students intending to complete the Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management must register for the RMIT degree. You are eligible to register as soon as you have completed a minimum of two core units. A fee of $100 is applicable to register for an award,

If you wish to Graduate at the Melbourne graduation ceremony in December, you must complete your final unit no later than study period 2 in the year you intend to graduate.

A payment will be required to attend the graduation ceremony in Melbourne, for information about payments or application dates see www.rmit.edu.au/graduation . Alternatively students can apply to graduate in absentia at any time.
