Recommended Study Pattern

Students are recommended to study the Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety units in the order specified in the Course Structure. Students must only enrol into one unit at a time.

Please note:

The course is self paced - so you can complete the units as fast as you want and as soon as you complete one unit, you can enrol into the next unit. However, once you have enrolled into a unit, you have a maximum of 6 months to complete that unit.

Students wanting to enrol into more than one unit at a time must contact lecturing staff from the Australian Centre for Work Safety to discuss their options before enrolling, Ph: +61 8 9267 7353.

Recognition of Prior Learning / Credit

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available to all students. You need to check the learning outcomes for each unit to determine your eligibility and then apply for a formal assessment.

You will need to provide documentation as evidence of your competency and there are costs associated with applying for RPL.

All applications for RPL will be assessed by a suitably qualified lecturer. You will be informed in writing of the result of your application.

The Recognition of Prior Learning/Credit section on each of the university course pages on the OUA website has information about credit or unit exemptions for your previous study at TAFE. The Eligibility section of some courses lists TAFE qualifications required before you can apply to be admitted to the course.
