The focus of the Master of Management is directed toward the development of management capabilities in the context of changing and dynamic organisational environments.
The program is aimed at career professionals with work experience, who hold an undergraduate degree and who seek to strengthen their career progression, enhance their management knowledge and skills, and therefore improve opportunities for themselves and their organisations.
The program is suitable for those who have experience in their field and who occupy or aspire to management positions in business, government, community, service and non-profit organisations.
Applicants with no academic qualifications but six years relevant full-time work experience are eligible to apply for the Executive Certificate in Business. On successful completion with a Credit average, students are eligible to apply for entry to the Master of Management.
Course Objectives
This postgraduate program in Management aims to produce graduates who will produce innovative solutions to problems and apply research skills to business challenges. Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to communicate effectively and perceptively and engage in an internationalised world.
Eligibility
Executive Certificate in Business - Work experience
Applicants with no academic qualifications but six years relevant full-time business experience are eligible to enter the course. On successful completion with a Credit average, students are eligible to apply for entry to the Master of Management.
International applicants:
Required IELTS score of 7 with no individual band score less than 6.5

This course is restricted. Students are required to apply and be approved by Monash University before they can enrol in units through OUA.
Applications for the Executive Certificate in Business or Master of Management are due two weeks prior to the close of enrolment.

Next steps:
After submitting your application, you should receive a confirmation email containing
a copy of your application for your records.
Your application will be assessed within 2-4 weeks, and if further information is
required, we will contact you. Once your application has been assessed, we will
be in touch via email to notify you of the outcome. At the latest this will be
one week after the closing date for applications.

Prepare supporting documents

Check that you have all the required documents, according to individual course
requirements and your personal circumstances, specifically:
- Your curriculum vitae - required for entry into postgraduate courses
only.
- Certified
copies of academic transcripts - required in most cases but check course
eligibility rules.
- A letter of recommendation from your employer on company letterhead -
recommended for entry using work experience.
- Certified legal documentation - if you have changed your name e.g. a marriage
certificate, deed poll name change certificate.
- Certified legal documentation - if you need to correct an error in your date of
birth e.g. a birth certificate.
- English language test results - if your courses were not predominantly in
English e.g. IELTS
or equivalent test results.
- Official translations of any documents not in English.
A "certified" copy is a copy bearing the recognised mark of a Justice of the Peace,
Commission of Oaths or declarations, Public Notary or a Solicitor.

Award Requirements
To qualify for the award of Executive Certificate in Business students intending to apply for the Master of Management must complete core units from the postgraduate program in Management.
Exit Points
There are no Exit Points in the Executive Certificate in Business. Students who continue their studies in the Master of Management may exit with the Gradaute Diploma in Business after completing eight units.
Recognition of Prior Learning / Credit
Monash University’s credit policy provides the framework for consideration of credit transfer applications. You may apply to the Faculty of Business and Economics for advanced standing for previous university studies. If you wish to apply for advanced standing please indicate this on your application form.
