Description
Develop scripts for presentation to a selected audience. To enable the development of this skill, you investigate the art of visual storytelling and explore a range of techniques for the creation of story elements such as structure and character. The unit also explores how cultural and critical theories offer frameworks for understanding film, television, and multimedia.

You must have successfully completed the following unit(s) before starting this unit:
- LPW500 — Critical Friends: The Real and Virtual Support of Writers
If you have completed equivalent study at another university, please contact a Student Advisor for advice.
You should have completed the Grad Dip of Arts (Writing) and Grad Cert of Arts (Writing) before enrolling in this unit.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
• Demonstrate insights into how to develop a script concept and proposal;
• Articulate an understanding of script structure and development;
• Apply skills in the basic principles of scriptwriting for appropriate formats;
• Demonstrating a high order of competency in analysis, critical evaluation and/or professional application through the planning and execution of project work or a piece of scholarship or research through developing a script concept and proposal in keeping with industry standards;
• Show flexibility in the application of knowledge and skills to new situations, to solve complex problems and to think rigorously and independently by developing insights into the delicate balance between the creative self and the demands of the specified industry and its commercial ramifications.
