Description
Learning and Communication Behaviour introduces new students at university to the basic skills they will need to create a successful pathway through their undergraduate years. The unit caters for online students presenting them with the essential components required to succeed in the virtual and face-to-face environments. The unit covers the four key elements of the basic skills required to achieve success across all faculties at a tertiary level. These are: learning as an individual and in a group; knowledge: its current state and its various forms; development of research skills; and diverse forms of communication. The unit will equip new students to enter into their chosen degree streams confident that they have the essential skills and background knowledge which will allow them to focus on their units rather than having to build their skills at the same time that they need to build their unit-specific knowledge.
