Open Universities Australia approves the establishment of COLE
The education landscape in Australia is rapidly changing, and in particular, the number of students taking up online education is growing rapidly. In response to this rapid growth Open Universities Australia (OUA) has established The Centre for Online Learning Excellence (COLE) as a new and exciting initiative that seeks to develop and advance online learning innovation, quality and capability.
Taking a collaborative approach to research and the evaluation of new and emerging technologies COLE will work with its partners to tailor education programs that address students learning styles, needs and preferences. Utilising a combination of technology trials, learning analytics and emergent learning technology and design COLE will take a collaborative approach with the sector to build world leading engagement and practice models.
COLE is currently working on a range of strategic initiatives to aid OUA and its partners in applying research outcomes, enabling technologies and innovative learning and teaching practices to support students, partners and the tertiary education sector more broadly to add value to their experiences and assist in their success.
