RMIT University, in conjunction with Open Universities Australia, offers you the opportunity to specialise in the highly professional career of logistics and supply chain management. Logistics and supply chain management are increasingly specialised and sophisticated, and provide a challenging and rewarding career. Excellent opportunities exist for logistics and supply chain management graduates in Australia and overseas.
This well-rounded course gives a strong emphasis on general business as well as detailing logistics and supply chain specialisations. Accordingly, all major areas of the business discipline are addressed including economics, accounting, quantitative methods, law, administration, information and communication technology.
Career Outcomes
As a result of the strong support given to the course by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA), the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA) and the logistics industry in Australia generally, graduates of the course have found little difficulty in obtaining employment. Most graduates pursue careers across general logistics or specialise in areas such as air, road, rail or sea transport, purchasing, inventory control and warehousing, distribution in manufacturing, retail or contract logistics organisations.
Professional Recognition
On completing the course, graduates will be eligible for graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (ClLTA). CILTA provides strong and active support for the course. CILTA is also part of a worldwide network, and the prestige associated with being a member of CILTA opens many more doors locally, nationally and internationally.
Another important industry association supporting the course is the Logistics Association of Australia. Many of the members of these associations provide employment opportunities for students during cooperative education.
