Elite athlete friendly

OUA is a member of the Elite Athlete Friendly Universities (EAFU) network. We recognise that juggling education with a sporting career is a challenge, so we aim to deliver flexible study options that are elite athlete friendly.

Supporting athletes to achieve academic excellence

OUA is committed to helping Elite Athletes achieve their dreams in and out of the sporting arena. A proud member of the Elite Athlete Friendly Universities (EAFU) network, OUA recognises the challenges athletes face when combining education, career and a personal life with a high performance-sporting career.

OUA's course offerings suit the specific needs of elite student athletes. The courses are designed for distance education and they are accessible online or delivered by mail. Through OUA, you can study online from leading Australian universities, anytime, anywhere.

Professional athletes studying with OUA come from a range of sports including all football codes, tennis, athletics, diving and more.

If you are new or recently returning to university study, OUA offers preparatory units to help you develop essential study and you will also receive six hours of free, tailored academic guidance for units you study.

You can complete a whole degree or study only a few units to complete a professional accreditation. With four study periods each academic year, you can also fast track a degree.

"Youngest Australian to win an Olympic medal in diving"

Studying through OUA has been great so far because it is flexible and easy to manage with my diving commitments. I travel overseas a lot with diving and this can mean being away for up to three weeks at a time. OUA has made it possible for me to study and compete overseas, sometimes that would be difficult to do on campus. It also means that I do not have to try to fit university times in with my training hours on a regular basis.
